Salina South’s Anreya Ordonez – Bowler Of The Month Presented By The Alley

Last season as a junior, Salina South’s Anreya Ordonez qualified for the 5-1A tournament and while it did not go as well as she had hoped, it was a valuable experience that she is hoping propels her to a special senior season.

“This season I’m most definitely excited about being a senior,” Ordonez said. “And being able to put myself out there a little more than I already was.”

There is no doubt that Ordonez put in the work in the offseason to give her a better shot at being a state contender this year.

“In the offseason, I bowl as much as I can between work and school,” Ordonez said. “Leagues are also very helpful if you are interested in getting better.”

Two of the crucial ways for Ordonez to improve her scores are simple bowling fundamentals.

“One area that I want to improve on is really working on picking up my spares or working on strike shots,” Ordonez said.

At the minimum, getting back to state is a goal for Ordonez, but she is hoping for significantly more than that last year.

“One goal I have for this season is to come out on top and stronger than last year,” Ordonez said. “But for a personal goal, I really want to be close or a runner up at state.”
