Emelie Green, a dedicated senior and long-distance runner for Elyria Christian School’s track and field team, wraps up her final season with quiet determination and pride. Known for her resilience on the track, Green approached this year with a simple, personal goal. Green wanted to match the performance she achieved last season. “My only goal was to try running as well as I did last year,” she told Vype Magazine.

Despite not having the chance to train much in the offseason due to a busy schedule, Green showed up ready to give her best effort. While long-distance running is often seen as a solo endeavor, she was especially looking forward to the team dynamic this season. “I was most looking forward to the team aspect and not having to overtake that goal by myself,” she shared with Vype Magazine, highlighting the camaraderie that made this year memorable.

Outside of athletics, Green has balanced her time with work at Subway, showing her commitment both on and off the track. She now sets her sights on the next chapter of her journey and is planning to attend McPherson College to pursue a degree in business.

Though her final season may not have been shaped by rigorous training or record-breaking finishes, Green’s story is one of perseverance and self-motivation. She finishes her high school career with grace and a clear vision for the future, having learned the value of setting goals, leaning on others, and doing her best even when conditions aren’t perfect.
