Salina Central’s Allison Robinett – Track Poll Winner – Presented by Hutchinson Community College

By Matt Browning

Last season, Salina Central’s Allison Robinett finished in the top five in Class 5A in discus, javelin and shot put.

But that is not enough.

Robinett has big plans for her 2026 season.

“In the off season, I really focus on strength training and working on my technique,” Robinett said. “I added in some Pilates as well which was new for me, but it improved my core strength, flexibility, and controlled movements which should benefit me in the ring and on the javelin run way.”

No matter the results that Robinett produces, she just wants to be the best leader possible.

“With it being my senior year, I’m the most excited about competing and doing big things with my team so I can leave a legacy behind and hopefully coach up some of our newer throwers,” Robinett said.

There were multiple fundamentals Robinett worked on throughout the offseason so that she can be even more explosive this season.

“One area I’m wanting to improve on this year is working on my separation throughout the throw and really working on my right so I can get a powerful finish,” Robinett said. “I worked on this a lot in the off-season just by constant drilling and watching lots of videos of elite throwers and coaches.”
