Rural Vista Senior Kole Riedy is excited to play his final year of high school football.

“I am excited about our new assistant football coach that we just added. His name is Joe Ross and he will bring tons of coaching experience with him. Hoping he will be able to improve our weaknesses and get us to be a solid defensive team,” Riedy said.

Riedy plays running back and cornerback for the Heat and racked up some impressive stats on both sides of the ball last year.

Riedy had 457 rushing yards on 59 carries and 11 touchdowns. He also has 42 tackles and three interceptions which earned him first team all-league defensive back.

Even though Riedy plans to continue to play football after college he still spent the offseason preparing like it was his last.

“Pushing myself every day to get faster and stronger for this upcoming sports season. We had a couple 5 on 5 over the course of the Summer. Also, we had our team football camp to get us back in the swing of things for this season,” Riedy said.

As a leader for the Heat, Riedy knows there are places he needs to improve to be better as a leader.

“As an upcoming senior I know that is something that I need to improve on and would be beneficial towards our success as a team,” Riedy said. “A goal we have as a team is to get better and better every week with the end goal of making a deep playoff run.”
