Lincoln’s Xavier Miller – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Visit Salina

Lincoln’s Xavier Miller made big waves on the offensive side of the ball last season. Miller was named a first team all-league skill player for the Leopards.

“I’m most excited to just get the pads pack on and play the sport I love and compete at it,” Miller said. “Also to just spend time with my boys and do team bonding activities and also to hopefully get some recognition.”

With endless team goals to make it to the top, Miller is also excited to showcase his talent under the lights again.

“Some goals I have for this season is to get over 850 receiving yards and also getting more than 15 touchdowns,” Miller said. “I also want to be ranked as the top receive another year from the sports in Kansas rankings. And maybe also receive some stars as well. Another one of my goals is to greatly help my team into our first playoff win and hopefully a championship this year. We’ve been close these past years but I have a good feeling we’ll get over that stump this year.”

After going undefeated in league play last season, Miller and the team is hungry for more league matchups and victories.

“Some games I’m ready to play in is our season opener against Ellis,” Miller said. “We played them last year as an opener and only lost to them by a touchdown and we were missing our starting quarterback. So we are very excited to play them and beat them this year. I’m also excited to play our rivals Sylvan-Lucas. We beat them last year by a big margin so we’re excited to play them again and have the same outcome.”
