Abilene senior Kambree Bryson was named an all-league outfielder last season, after a .388 batting average, .351 on base percentage, and a .392 slugging percentage.
Bryson has played softball for close to six years but has taken a different approach from a lot of other athletes like herself.
“I am a senior and a remorseful one at that,” Bryson said. “This is because I did not play softball for four years before last year, my junior season. Last year I realized how much I had missed softball so I decided to put my heart back into it.”
After achieving the best record in school history the Lady Cowgirls have prepared all off season to be even better next season.
“A personal goal I have for this year is to be more confident at the plate and improve my batting average from last year,” Bryson said. “A team goal i have this year is to obtain a better record, even though the Cowgirls record last year was the best we’ve had in years. I know the girls coming up this year are strong and will work hard for our team, especially our returning seniors.”
Bryson will naturally step into a leadership position this season as a senior, and will do everything in her power to lead the best way she knows how to.
“As a leader this year I want to teach others to brush their mistakes off,” Bryson said. “There will always be another chance, another game, another at bat.”
