Salina South senior Brooklyn Jordan enters her final basketball season with passion, purpose, and a mindset shaped by years of hard work. A skilled point guard and shooting guard, Jordan is determined to make every moment count, playing each game as if it were her last and striving not just for standout performances but for a standout year.
Her individual goals center on effort, growth, and resilience. She aims to improve every game, support her teammates, and honor the younger version of herself who dreamed of reaching this point.
As for team goals, Jordan hopes to help lead the Cougars to the state tournament while rebuilding a winning culture. “We want to leave the school remembering our class as not just a basketball team, but a family,” she said.
She’s especially excited for rivalry matchups, most notably against Salina Central, as well as challenges against powerhouse programs like Derby and Maize South. Instead of intimidation, Jordan sees opportunity as a chance to compete, rise to the moment, and prove what her team is capable of.
The offseason was a time of relentless work. Jordan trained morning, afternoon, and night, crediting both her dedication and her travel basketball experience for shaping her into the player she is today. Travel ball offered exposure, improvement, and coaches who pushed her toward her potential.
Beyond basketball, Jordan is a standout multi-sport athlete. She plays soccer for Salina South, earning First Team All-League last year, and has extensive club experience in Manhattan, Kansas City, and the NPL. She is also involved in HOSA and gives back to the community by running training sessions for young athletes.
After graduation, Jordan plans to attend Wichita State University to begin her path toward becoming a dental hygienist, carrying her work ethic and leadership with her into the future.
