The Salina Sacred Heart football team has dealt with a multitude of injuries throughout the early part of the season.
But with those players slowly coming back, wide receiver Noah Hines is confident the season can be turned around.
“Having the team back fully healthy definitely boosted our confidence level as a team and it showed when we came out and beat Pleasington,” Hines said. “I’m pleased that our team is dedicated like we are all hungry and we want to win and show people that we can ball.”
Hines enjoys being a part of the Sacred Heart program and that’s due to who he gets to suit up with and be coached by.
“The team is great,” Hines said. “I feel like we are a great group of young men. I feel like we have one of the best coaching staffs in the whole state and they want only what’s best for us which as a player feels amazing. I feel like we are heading in the right direction for sure with the confidence level that the team is at right now, I just think the sky’s the limit for us.”
There were two main goals Hines wanted to accomplish this season – an individual goal and team goal.
“Some things I wanted to accomplish as a team is definitely a winning record and a district championship,” Hines said. “I also want us to be able to get a first round home playoff game and win a first round playoff game. Some individual goals are definitely all league and all state first or second team. Especially coming off an honorable mention in both last year.”
