Hanover’s Tanner Bruna – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Spencer Cleaning

By Cooper Chadwick

Hanover senior Tanner Bruna is excited to play his last season as a Wildcat, and is motivated to make his community proud.

This program has a proud history, and people expect us to win – but over the last few years, we haven’t fully lived up to that. I take that personally. I want to help bring that winning standard back,” Bruna said.

As a senior, Bruna is the leader for this team, the one who sets the tone and pushes everyone to be their best.

“I’m not just here to be everyone’s friend, I’m here to be a good teammate. That means holding people accountable, pushing guys when they’re slacking, and leading by example whether we’re in the weight room, on the field, or off the field. At the end of the day, I care about this team and I want us all to succeed, even if that means having tough conversations or pushing someone out of their comfort zone,” Bruna said.

Bruna has been helping prepare this team ever since the 2024 season ended, and has been focusing heavily on the relationship aspect of the game.

“We’ve been running 7-on-7 on our own time, just staying active and building that game chemistry. We’ve also just been spending a lot of time together as a team off the field, just hanging out, building trust, and making sure we’re tight as a whole,” Bruna said.

With this being Bruna’s last year playing football, he is most excited to get this last chance to play with this particular group.

“We’ve grown up together, we’ve been through wins, losses, hard practices, and everything in between – and this is our final shot to leave it all on the field. I want to soak in every moment, every snap, every game, and make sure I have no regrets when it’s all said and done,” Bruna said.
