Sterling’s Logan Isaac – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Sterling College

By Blake Chadwick

As a young kid, you dream about being on one of the best teams in your area and on your team. Logan Isaac of Sterling grew up to be that kid.

The senior has been starting for the last three years, and now has what it takes to hopefully lead his Sterling Black Bears to the promised land.

“I’m super blessed to be part of this team, and I’m excited for one last ride with my brothers,” Isaac said. “We have a special group and a great coaching staff, and we are ready to make big things happen this season.”

As important as it is to lead by example, Isaac also does a great job as one of their emotional and vocal guys in the locker room.

“Being a vocal leader is something that I’ve been working on for a long time, and it has shown on the field,” Isaac said. “Being in the position that I am, I am always communicating play calls and other adjustments to my teammates. I love seeing the young guys stepping up and being vocal during the JV games, because it shows that my teammates and I’s leadership is getting to the young guys.”

Isaac was named a second-team all-league linebacker, and an all-state honorable mention linebacker after his 60 tackles, 3.5 TFLs, and two interceptions last season. The accolades are great, but the senior wants to end his career by making history

“ For the team, our ultimate goal is a state title, but we also want to get past the second round of the playoffs, since we have been knocked out in that round the past couple of years,” Isaac said. “I’m really excited about this team, and we definitely have the weapons to do big things this season.”
