Coming from a small 2A school there is not a lot of experience playing high school baseball. That is why junior Quinten Ernzen is so important for Ell-Saline High school.
Ernzen is a very versatile player as well. Last year he played mostly second base but is looking to be moved to shortstop this year.
Ernzen is definitely a student of the game and with club baseball and school baseball he is full of knowledge that he is ready to share.
“I have spent a lot of time learning about the game so when I see someone doing something that may not be right I always try to help them and fix it so they have the best chance at succeeding,” Ernzen said.
Over the off-season Ernzen focused on his swing. He noticed he had a flaw in his swing last season and has worked to fix it anyway he could.
“I worked on my swing any chance I got whether that be in the cage off of a machine or in my backyard off the tee,” Ernzen said.
Continuously putting the work in to improve is not always the easiest thing to do, but for Ernzen it’s always worth it if he gets to make his family proud.
“My motivation I would say is my family just knowing how much they have done for me makes me want to show them that it wasn’t just a waste of time and that it truly did help,” Ernzen said.
