Ell-Saline is well into the start of the basketball season. This year a standout player and also a senior is Taelor Hardesty. Hardesty plays small forward and guard for the team but doesn’t just focus on what’s important on the court. Hardesty, as a senior, wants to be a good leader and role model for the younger players.
This season is Hardesty’s last basketball season playing for Ell-Saline, so Hardesty is really looking forward to all the great things this season has to offer and enjoying the memories made with teammates and friends. Individually, Hardesty is looking forward to the game against Bennington because Hardesty’s cousin plays for Bennington. A fun family rivalry to watch out for this year.
During the off-season, Hardesty went to a basketball camp offered in Garden City to prepare for this final senior season of competition. Hardesty also was a part of the MAYB traveling team and experienced some great competition.
Senior year has already started off with a bang for Hardesty. During an early season game, Hardesty ended up with a double double and averaged 8.4 points per game. The best in Hardesty’s career so far.
During the fall, Hardesty plays volleyball for Ell-Saline and during the spring, Hardesty will round out senior season by finishing with softball. In addition to school sports, Hardesty also participates in rodeo. After graduation this coming spring, Hardesty plans to attend Fort Hays State University starting in the fall of 2025 to work towards a degree to become an ultrasound technician.
