Salina Area Fan Vote Player of the Year – Kas Kramer, Ell-Saline (Presented by Hutchinson Community College)

Ell-Saline’s Kas Kramer set an individual goal before the season, one which would be difficult to achieve.

“My season when really well and it was a super fun season to experience,” Kramer said. “I wanted to get over 1,000 rushing yards which I succeeded with 1,020.”

Ell-Saline went 7-1 in the regular season, but were upset in the second round of the playoffs by Madison. Kramer said he won’t forget that loss for a long time.

“I am not satisfied with how we ended and will definitely have an itch for the state game next year,” Kramer said.

There was a unique game this season that Kramer said was particularly memorable.

“One memory that stands out most is when we kicked a field goal to end the game against Solomon at half but got a flag and did it again and made both of them,” Kramer said.

Little River has long been one of the top teams in Eight Man Division I, so when Kramer and the Cardinals were able to take them down this year, it was one of the best wins for the program in recent history.

“The win against Little River stands out the most,” Kramer said. “It’s the most important because they were ranked No. 2 in Eight-Man and we were unranked at the time. It was a really good game and we won by stopping them on a two-point conversion.”
